Leadership Series: Colonel Bradford Everman, Commander of the 177th Fighter Wing
The Greater Atlanitc City Chamber will welcome Colonel Bradford Everman, Commander of the 177th Fighter Wing, New Jersey Air National Guard as the keynote speaker for the Leadership Series scheduled on Thursday, September 3 at 10 AM. Col. Everman will discuss the 177th FWs efforts during the pandemic and what makes the 177th FW the best place in America to base the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. The Leadership Series is presented by AtlantiCare, Atlantic City Electric, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ, Orsted, and South Jersey Industries.
Upon graduation from the United States Air Force Academy in 1991, Colonel Everman received his commission. After graduating from Undergraduate Pilot Training at Williams Air Force Base, Phoenix, Arizona in 1993, Colonel Everman was transferred to Air Combat Command Headquarters, Directorate of Requirements, Langley Air Force Base for duty as a Staff Action Officer. He was then moved to an Executive Officer position for the Director. He was transferred to perform duties as an operations scheduler, assigned to the 71st Fighter Squadron, 1st Fighter Wing, Langley AFB, VA. Colonel Everman was then returned to flying training pipeline, receiving T-38 requalification and Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals training at Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Upon graduation from F-16 training in the 61st Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Force Base, Phoenix, Arizona, his first operational assignment was the 80th Fighter Squadron, World Famous Juvats, Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea. Extending the 12 month tour by four months, he served as the Chief of Scheduling. In 1998, Colonel Everman transferred to the 389th Fighter Squadron, part of the USAF’s only composite wing, at Mountain Home AFB, ID. He flew as an F-16CJ mission commander, instructor pilot, and Night Vision Goggle initial cadre before moving to the 366th Operations Group as a flight examiner. While assigned to the wing, he served three overseas tours of duty as a mission commander in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey in support of the no-fly zone patrols over Iraq.
In January 2001, Colonel Everman joined the 177th Fighter Wing as an instructor pilot and flight examiner. He was selected to attend the USAF Fighter Weapons Instructor Course shortly after his arrival. He served as the Wing Weapons Officer, 177th Operational Support Flight Commander, 119th Fighter Squadron Commander and Deputy Maintenance Group Commander. During this time, he served five overseas tours in support of combat operations, to include tours as an Expeditionary Fighter Squadron Commander in Iraq and Afghanistan. Colonel Everman is a command pilot with over 3,000 flying hours, including contingency and combat sorties in support of Operation Southern Watch, Operation Northern Watch, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
