Financial Incentives to Purchase Homes in Atlantic City Webinar
A virtual information session regarding the financial incentives available to those who buy homes in Atlantic City is being offered to the public for free on March 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
The program is a collaboration of several neighborhood community development corporations, along with the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce. The organizations have all prioritized home ownership as a strategy to grow wealth for residents, improve conditions of neighborhood properties, create a more invested residential base, and generate new economic activity.
The program is open to anyone, but targeted to real estate professionals, major employers, and community leaders so they can help spread the information. The next step is to work through employer human resources departments to get the information to those who would benefit. All programs have income limits, ranging up to $140,000 depending on household size.
Representatives from Atlantic City, Atlantic County Improvement Authority, the New Jersey Housing Mortgage Finance Agency, and private banks such as Fulton and PNC will be presenting their incentive programs. The program will also feature voices of homeowners in Atlantic City.
The neighborhood non-profits that are organizing the event represent Chelsea, Ducktown, the Inlet, and Midtown, however, the programs are available for any Atlantic City property. The group’s goal is to transition city renters into homeowners, a strategy that has proven to be successful in changing communities by providing more stability to neighborhoods. Home ownership also stems displacement of residents as property values increase; this is especially important to maintain Atlantic City’s cultural diversity, and to continue to provide housing for those who work in the City.
The forum will be hosted through Zoom. Attendees can view and listen to the meeting through their computer, tablet, or phone. Information on how to access the meeting is sent to the email address provided upon registration. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions in advance as part of the registration form to assist us with answering as many questions as possible during the 90-minute event.
