Leadership Series: Steve Callender, President of the Casino Association of New Jersey

The Greater Atlanitc City Chamber will welcome Steve Callender, Caesars Regional President and President of the Casino Association of New Jersey, as the keynote speaker for the Leadership Series scheduled on Thursday, September 24 at 10 AM.  Mr. Callender will discuss the the closing of the casinos due to the pandemic after 21 months of growth, the reopening of the casinos, and expectations for moving forward for the casino industry and Atlantic City.  The Leadership Series is presented by AtlantiCare, Atlantic City Electric, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ, Orsted, South Jersey Industries, TD Bank and Versutia Solutions.

Few casino executives can claim the breadth and depth of experience that Steve Callender has earned. Now widely known and respected as Regional President for the new Caesars Entertainment, Steve got his start in the gaming industry right along with Atlantic City itself. His career path began, rather humbly, as a dealer at Atlantic City’s first casino, when Resorts opened its doors in 1978.

Over the next decade, Steve swiftly worked his way up the gaming executive ranks at Resorts, eventually assuming the role of Vice President of Casino Operations.  Over the following years, Steve put his talents to use at Atlantic City Hilton and as Senior Vice President of Table Operations at Bally’s.  He then returned to his old stomping grounds at Resorts as Senior Vice President of Operations, a role he held for another four years. He moved to Tropicana in 2010 and was promoted to General Manager in 2012.     In 2018 Steve was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations – Eastern Region for Eldorado Resorts and in July 2020 was promoted to Regional President for Caesars Entertainment.
