Join Together Atlantic County (JTAC) a substance misuse prevention coalition is reminding the members of the Greater Atlantic City Chamber to properly secure and dispose of their medications to help prevent from getting into the wrong hands and also to protect our environment. To help you safely secure your medications, JTAC offers FREE locking medicine cabinets to residents of Atlantic County. Permanent Prescription Drop Boxes are located in police departments and pharmacies for you to safely dispose of unused, unwanted and expired medications. Most drop box locations are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. JTAC also offers FREE drug deactivation bags to dispose of prescription medication including liquids. Five Simple Steps
• Take inventory of your prescription and over-the-counter medicine.
• Secure your medicine cabinet.
• Dispose of your unused, unwanted, and expired medicine at a permanent prescription drop box or by   using a drug deactivation bag.
• Take your medicine(s) exactly as prescribed.
• Talk to your children about the dangers of prescription drug abuse.
