Problem Solving & Decision Making: Despite all the natural decision making that goes on and the problem solving we do, some people are very uncomfortable with having to make decisions. You may know someone who has a hard time making decisions about what to eat, never mind the internal wrestling they go through in order to take on major decisions at work. The answer rests in our ability to identify options, research them, and then put things together in way that works. Having a process to work through can take the anxiety out of problem solving and make decisions easier.
Customer Service: Delivering World-Class Customer Experiences: Learn how to better communicate and interact with customers to elevate your company's success. This highly-interactive three hour session will focus on customer service strategies, best practices, communication techniques, crucial traits for customer-facing positions, service recovery strategies, tips on customer relationship management and more.
Team Building, Being a Team Player: The ability to collaborate well with others is a skill that employers value greatly, and teamwork is something that most jobs require. In this fast-paced, 4 hour workshop, participants will have the chance to explore the elements of an effective team, take a look at behaviors that interfere with and enable teamwork, and learn and practice techniques to enhance their ability to work collaboratively with others.
Communication for Effective Supervision: This course will provide both a theoretical base of information and practical application for supervisors to understand their roles and responsibilities in the organization. Through mini lectures, individual, team and group exercises and activities, the participants will become active learners in exploring and developing the skills that supervisors need to succeed.
Social Media Fundamentals: In this workshop, you will discover which social media tools is most important to you based on personal and professional goals. Learn how to enroll, create meaningful content, and engage with the audience through various sites. Examine best practices for using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and review personal profile needs to best create content relevant to your audience.
English in the Workplace: This 25 hour course offers applied English for the workplace to facilitate basic communication with supervisors and guests whose native language is English. Emphasis is on oral communication and career-specific vocabulary that targets public service professionals in Housekeeping and Public Area Departments. Upon completion, students should be able to communicate at a functional level.
Managing Negativity in the Workplace: This workshop will help supervisors understand how negative attitudes and behaviors may develop in the workplace and how they may affect employee morale. Identify the characteristics of several difficult types of employees and the skills to efficiently cope and manage with these behaviors.
Workplace Harassment: What It Is and What to Do About It
Between 2010 and 2015, employers paid out $698.7 million to employees alleging harassment (through the U.S. Employment Equity Opportunity Commission's administrative enforcement pre-litigation process.) But financial repercussions are not the only reason why workplaces need to be proactive when it comes to preventing harassment. This type of behavior has harmful effects on the victims such as health and self-esteem problems, as well as negative impacts on the workplaces where it occurs, including decreased productivity and increased absenteeism. But how do you prevent harassment from occurring? What sorts of policies should be in place? What should managers do to protect their employees? And if a complaint is filed, what will we do? All of these questions (and more!) will be answered in this workshop.
Microsoft Excel 2016 Basic:This course will cover the fundamental concepts of Microsoft Excel 2016. will learn the basics of entering and editing text, values, and formulas, determine absolute and relative references, and work with ranges, rows, and columns.
Microsoft Excel 2016 Intermediate: This course will teach participants how to work with large worksheets and use multiple worksheets and workbooks efficiently. It will introduce them to more advanced formatting techniques, such as applying special number formats, creating and sorting and filtering data.
Microsoft Excel 2016 Advanced: In this course, participants will work with advanced functions and formulas, as well as lookup functions such as VLOOKUP, MATCH, and INDEX. In addition, they will learn about data validation, and will use advanced data filtering and will work with PivotTables and PivotCharts.
Microsoft Word 2016, Beyond the Basics: In this course, participants will build on the skills acquired in the Microsoft Word basic course and learn to use sorting & filtering, work tables, smart art, and work with shapes. They will also learn to add sections, columns, and design elements such as watermarks and themes. In addition, they will use Track Changes and perform a mail merge.
Microsoft Access 2016 Basic: In this course, participants will build on the skills acquired in the Microsoft Word basic course and learn to use sorting & filtering, work tables, smart art, and work with shapes. They will also learn to add sections, columns, and design elements such as watermarks and themes. In addition, they will use Track Changes and perform a mail merge.
Google Suite 2016: G Suite comprises Gmail, Hangouts, Calendar and Google+ for communication; Google Drive for storage; Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms and Sites for collaboration. Participants will review basic procedures and best practices of this brand of cloud computing.
