SUMMARY:2022 Leadership Series: Economic Outlook Panel
DESCRIPTION:The Greater Atlantic City Chamber will host a panel discussion with economic experts on Tuesday\, February 22. The breakfast event will take place from 8 AM to 10 AM at the Fannie Lou Hamer Hall at the Stockton University Atlantic City Campus.\n\n\n\nStay informed on the regional and local economic outlook as we continue recovering form the COVID-19 pandemic. The February Leadership event will be in person and in a virtual format. Advanced registration will be required.\n\n \n\nAttendees will hear directly from expert economists on trends in the local\, regional\, and national economy. Attendees are welcome to submit a question by completing the field on the online registration form.\n\n \n\nPanelists:\nRichard Kasmin\, Ph. D.\, NJEDA Chief Economist\n Richard Kasmin is the Chief Economist for the NJEDA\, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in economics and statistical analysis to the NJEDA. Richard spent more than 20 years as an economist and strategist in the financial investment industry\, specializing in analyzing and forecasting economic activity\, labor market dynamics\, and inflation.\n\n\n\nImmediately prior to joining the NJEDA\, Richard spent two years an analyst at the National Institute of Early Education Research\, where his work focused on public financing and the net economic benefits of early childhood education.\n\n\n\nAlong with his work for the NJEDA\, Richard is also an adjunct professor of macroeconomics at County College of Morris. Richard holds masters? degrees in economics from NYU and business administration from Cornell University\, and he is currently a PhD candidate in education policy at Rutgers University\, specializing in the economics of education and and he received his PhD in education policy from Rutgers University\, where his work focused on the economics of education.\n\n\n\nOliver D. Cooke\, Ph.D.\, Associate Professor of Economics at Stockton University\n\n\n\nOliver Cooke is Associate Professor of Economics at Stockton University. He teaches courses in macroeconomics\, ecological economics\, U.S. economic history and political economy. Dr. Cooke has nearly twenty years of experience conducting research on metropolitan area and state economies\, labor and real estate markets\, and public policies. He created and authors the South Jersey Economic Review. He regularly consults for a wide variety of public and private sector institutions. He is currently program coordinator for Stockton?s Economics Program\, and co-chairs Stockton?s Economic Inequality Initiative. Prior to his academic career\, Dr. Cooke was a research associate at the Fiscal Policy Institute and an analyst at Deutsche Bank\, both in New York City. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His doctoral dissertation\, Rethinking Municipal Privatization\, was published by Routledge in 2008. He is currently writing a book on economic inequality.\n\n\n\nEric Reich\, President and founder of Reich Asset Management\, LLC\n\n\n\nEric is President and founder of Reich Asset Management\, LLC. He relies on his more than 20 years of experience to help clients have an enjoyable retirement. He believes that\, for many retirees\, preserving principal is more important than trying to beat the market.\n\n\n\nEric is a graduate of the Richard Stockton College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management. He has since become a Certified Financial PlannerTM professional\, obtained his Certified Investment Management AnalystSM (CIMA ) and earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU ) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC ) designations.\n\n\n\nEric has a passion for volunteerism and believes in giving back to the community. He is past President of Stockton?s Alumni Association and former member of the Foundation Board of Directors. He also served as co-chairman of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Small Business Development Committee.\n\n\n\nCOVID-19 PROTOCOLS\n\nThe Greater Atlantic City Chamber is committed to providing a safe environment for our members\, employees\, and venue staff to gather in person\, by making decisions based on scientific public health guidance.
